Skip the ferry to Koh Samui — direct tours run from Koh Phangan to Ang Thong Marine Park. Here's how it works and what to expect.
Koh Phangan is approximately 45 km northwest of Ang Thong Marine Park — further than Koh Samui (30 km) but still very accessible. Dedicated speedboat tours depart from Koh Phangan directly, with no need to transit via Koh Samui first.
Tours typically depart from Thong Sala Pier (the main pier on the south coast of Koh Phangan), though some operators also pick up from the Haad Rin area. The transit to the park takes approximately 60–75 minutes by speedboat.
Fewer tour operators depart from Koh Phangan, so your choice is more limited. But the itinerary once you're in the park is essentially the same. If you're based on Koh Phangan, a direct tour saves you 2–3 hours over taking the ferry to Samui first.

As with all tours, the park entry fee is paid separately on arrival — not included in the tour price.
If tours from Koh Phangan are fully booked on your date, consider taking the ~30 minute ferry to Koh Samui and joining a tour from there — the choice is much wider. See our Koh Samui guide.
